1-800-Med-Alert is a company which provides a wireless emergency system for those who quickly need to reach an operator. If the operator thinks it is necessary, they will then dispatch a doctor to your house. It is a pretty standard medical alert system that has been used by quite a few people across the united states. It costs about thirty dollars a month which is quite an average figure in this industry.

The company has been around for a good couple of decades but has not received very good reviews in the past. Fortunately, I have never heard of any patients who needed help not being able to get it but in my experiences there have been cases of poor technical support and even a few cases of 1-800-Med-Alert charging after the passing of customers. One particular complaint which is commonly heard is that it can be particularly hard to contact 1-800-MED-ALERT staff, which certainly makes one worry about whether or not the operators will be available when they are needed by the patient.

In the past, when there weren’t many medical alert systems around, perhaps 1-800-MED-ALERT would have been a good choice. Nowadays, however, we suggest that you go for one which has been bought into the 21st century such as lifestation.
